well i kinda wanna build a few subs. any suggestions?

it will be possibly in a fiberglass ported box in the back of a gutted 87 street/strip mustang. not in the trunk, but where the "back cushion" of the rear seat was, facing the head rests. i will be running about 3000 watts give or take a little with the big 3 and 2 batts. i will be building the box also so its not a prefab or whatev.

i learned how to recone subs and i think i would like to have 2 15s. i would just need the matching baskets and motors, then i will buy recones from team PSI or sundownz or whoever sells em. either that, or i could recone some DD 3515s or something. i dont really know what to do and what is most cost effective. i dont really have a budget because this wont be happening for at least a month or 2. anybody have ideas on which motors i should get? ill likely just use 12 spoke baskets unless something comes included with the motors but which motors are good for this power? ive seen TC 3hp and 4hp stuff but what else? what would be a "sweet" set-up?

Why add unnecessary weight to a car with a acceleration as a primary purpose?

A 3k system would be overkill for a street/strip car to me.

yeah i mean.. its a 9 sec car but its not a purpose built race car. its a daily also so i dont mind it. i could just do a single 15 on 2K or something as well. im kind of just playing aroudn with ideas.

I am looking to do the EXACT same thing man!! except i need them in my trunk.... anyways im thinking about buying some brahma motors+baskets..... or maybe if I want more spl ill just get some MT motors and baskets and then the 100$ psi recone...

oh i didnt know about PSI being 100 bucks. is it just the MT recone? maybe ill recone an MT on 2K. is that underpowering the bish? the place i might work at soon is a Digital Designs dealer so i might just hit that up depending on price. maybe he will have some baskets and motors layin around that i can use or something we will see. do you have a mustang as well jared? because those trunks cant fit really anything in there unless you do a fiberglass enclosure in the spare tire well.

no man im between cars... i have a 97 318 bmw convertible but im getting a 2000 328i.... yeah i broke an mt of some nasty power so i sent it to PSI and he hooked me up pretty cheap... recones from him and from Fi are about the same for the MT... 2000 would be great the RMS is like 2500.... right now i have a 15"mt in my back seat off 1200 rms... and it is great... sounds pretty **** good actually mostly thanks to a heavier longer coil that David at psi hooked it up with... but when i get the new car im probably gonna get 2 mt motors and 2 recones and baskets from david both 12"

Yeah the 15" mt i have right now is dual 1 so i'm gonna need dual one for the recone...keep an eye out for those motors.... I'm getting the new car soon so ill want to get that done quick

oh yeah. are you running 3 15s or what? im just doing a single 15 in a fiberglass ported box. i was also thinkin about running a nice 15 sealed because itd still be loud but... no i dont want to.

honestly whether you are going for SPL or SQ ported is your best bet with a sub like an MT... im gonna try to fit 2 15s in my new trunk if not i may go to 3 10" dc level 4xls
