I have a new head unit. Soundstream VR-65XB. Everything is wired up properly however the radio will sometimes lose its memory. It doesnt happen every time the car is shut off. I have tested the constant power and its getting 12 volts with the car off. I have also tried 3 different grounds because my car doesn't have a factory ground for the radio so i ran it to the chassis. I am at a loss as to what i can do. Does it sound like a bad head unit? Is there something else i can try?

If you have a spare HU laying around, try it out with that. If it works, then the other HU is bad.

If not, I'd send it back for another.
