I am running a Sundown Audio X12 with dual 4 (version2). I keep reading this thing can take 2k+ all day (rated at 1500w but most say underrated). I have 1000w Alpine on it now and its very decent but wanting more.

What I want is 2000 RMS at 2 ohm BUT I want it to be 1ohm stable for when I decide the one 12" isnt enough, I can upgrade to two D4's and run 1ohm load to the amp and get more power.

Big 3 with 1/0g OFC wire, same wire to the trunk. Am adding a 2nd yellowtop battery when I relocate the amp's in the next week or so, since I have a spare sitting here. I will upgrade the alt before I run the amp at 1 ohm.

Recommend something to me please?

Almost be cheaper to buy a second x12 and run 1ohm. Or recone ur 12 into a d2.... That's what id do $$$ wise...

My amp now is an Alpine M1005 and is not 1 ohm stable.
Why did u buy d4 in the beginning??? You knew that lil alpine wasn't going to be enough..... I can get you a bnib with warranty Tara3k2 for 400 shipped from authorized dealer or 4k2 for 500.... Not sure on other models cause I never needed less than 3k on tap lol... But price would fall in line I am sure..

The speaker level inputs will accept the output from a high powered radio.

Controls

Low Pass Filter: The amp has a low-pass filter, continuously variable from 50-200 Hz with a slope of 24dB/octave. This being a mono subwoofer amp, the crossover is always engaged.

Subsonic Filter: This amp utilizes a subsonic filter to eliminate super low frequencies that can rob power and damage speakers. The subsonic filter settings are 15 Hz, 30 Hz, and off.

Bass EQ: The Bass EQ circuit provides a variable boost (0-12dB) with an adjustable center frequency (30-80 Hz).

Connections

Left Side Of Amplifier:

GND (ground): gold-plated set screw terminal, accommodates bare wire up to 1/0 gauge

Battery: gold-plated set screw terminal, accommodates bare wire up to 1/0 gauge

Remote: gold-plated set screw terminal, accommodates bare wire up to 8 gauge

Speaker Output: gold-plated set screw terminal, accommodates bare wire up to 8 gauge

Note: Alpine recommends 1/0 gauge power and ground wire (2 gauge minimum is listed, but only if both power and ground wires are 1 meter or less).
