I really would like to get into dB drags. Ive been reserching for the perfect sub(s) with the perfect amp and box for a long time and i cant really make a decision. Since some of you are professionals and have been around car audio for a long time i thought you would know best. I have around $2,500 to spend. I drive a 95 4-door accord, with upgrade big 3 to 1/0 wires, and a 200amp alt. So what i want you to tell me what i should buy, give me the subs, amp, box tuned to whatever, wiring exc. Thanks for the help. Want something that can hit 145-150dB's

Im sorry to tell you, that vehicle is just not great for DB Drag, MECA, or any SPL competition. Its very hard to get any trunk vehicle to go over 150....but it can be done. You'll need a large amp 4kw+ to provide the horsepower, you'll need a sub(s) that can take that amount of energy, and a highly tuned fartbox. This still probably wont let you be real competitive in DB Drag, but you'll do O.K. in MECA. If your really serious about this, feel free to contact me via AIM, because there are many many points to go over before taking the endless bottom plunge into SPL racing.

It's gonna be a fart box, if you are really serious about doing it....

With your car closed up it nartually causes your bass to "leak" out. Where you DONT want it to in most cases. ie trunk/door seals. Aim into the car and tune in the mid 40-50's. Depends on what your car likes.

Buy a CRX...

- a Big Battery

- buy stock in Copper cuz you'll be buying quite a bit of it

- wattage depending on class

- sub size depending on class

say street A? Get two of the biggest 10"s you can find, and buy one or two of the biggest amps you can find... How bout a couple SOLO-X 10"s and a JBL Crown, or a couple DD Z1's??

you really dont need to get way into db drag and spend big $ to compete...

but if you want to really be successful thats another story. id also suggest saving up for a termlab sensor if you want to get into it. or find someone who will let you use theirs. you can get the great equipment and apply great theories all day but the fact of it is that cars do weird shit and you stand to gain a lot of deeebeeezzz if you can get everything in the best position, get tuning jusstt right, etc.

but x2 on buying the most ridiculous woofers and amps you can afford for any class youre in.

and also x2 on accords not exactly beign great spl cars.
