Glad you agree. I have some $50 subs in my vehicle and they sound near fantastic, but are lacking on the high end. It's all in the enclosure.
For starters, what is your budget?

i just realized their warehouse is like 30 minutes from me. RE subs appear really good. i can't find them available online however, amazon is sold out.

i can get alpine type e for cheap locally. how do type e fair in terms of the sound?

yeah, i just made a deal locally, i can get 2 12 type plus the enclosure for really good price. that's why i asked. all for less than 100

That's exactly what you don't want to do.

Buy one or two decent subs (I wouldn't recommend Type Es at all) and build your own box for them. As I said, the box is the most important factor...

You won't find those because RE does not produce these subs in the S4 configuration any longer. They do come in D4; however, two of those will wire down to 1 ohm, which your amp is not capable of, and I am afraid one may not be enough output in an SUV...

You could surely find someone in the area, building a box is a great experience though, for learning and having a good time with some friends. It only takes an afternoon to build one.

I'm pretty sure allcrispedup/still/l4yfr4me has four of those for sale.

Shipping is **** on them, and I'm not strapped for cash like I thought I would be so I'm going to keep them a while longer and sell them locally.
