Walling off my car, part 2 (the pics thus far)

Just one tip on that allthread bracing, at those angles eventually that sheetmetal and the mdf are going to deform and the bolts are going to loosing and enlarge the holes. It would be a good idea to cut some angled spacers out of wood, pipe, anything you can get your hands on. Toss some loctite on there too.

Why should I calm down Ive told him 5 times already I dont want his advice and he keeps shoving it down my throat. I dont care if he invented the sub himself I declined his help and he keeps pushing it. He keeps guessing on what ive done and I dont feel like confirming nor denying as I dont need to prove my build to him. Just cause I dont post my builds up here for the shittalking crews to see doesnt mean Ive never build before, and Im also pissed because I told Kenny not to post this thread to begin and when I got a bullshit 2 day ban he decides to post this thread.
am i mistaken or is it not kennys car? if u dont know what your doing you shouldnt work on other peoples stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'm not the one who started spewing insults

well thats you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif you probably used that special TCAB particle board too. I got it under control. No need for advice. If this box breaks apart its cause he totalled his car and flipped it.
That statement is nothing but bullshit.

I don't (nor have I ever thought to) use particle board. If I want light weight I go with birch.

I try to be of some assistance because it is OBVIOUS that this build needs it. I don't care what experience you do or do not have, the way this wall has been put together is just completely wrong and something bad is just WAITING to happen.

If you've built similar walls before and have done things the same way, I pray for the next person to receive the nvruckus treatment.

Just because you aren't finished doesn't mean you aren't half-assing things.
And what about the top of the box? That shit looks SUPER weak, i mean hell just look at these two pics

wall%20033%20(Small).jpg

Before angle (notice how the ends meet up nicely).

After angle. Now tell me, how does the side of a wall move out almost a half inch if its "secured"? $5 says that the top isn't even screwed down and you guys just plastered the thing with liquid nails and figured it would be good enough.

I'm sick of this build already and the catastrophe has only just begun.
the wall didnt move out that far.. if u look closely in the 1st pic it wasnt lined up correctly first off. u have to look close and pay attention or u dont see it.

If the wall moved 1/8" that means the pieces weren't screwed together in the first place.

I dont see how they could even be screwed together anyways since the top is laying on top of the sides. If you wanted to screw the pieces together you would extend the sides up 3/4" and take 3/4" off of each end of the top so the top sits INSIDE the side walls so you could screw the sides IN TO the top piece.

On top of that, if they did it that way it would have been no problem to add another layer to the top of the wall since that is the only side with only 1 layer.

If the wall moved AT ALL that means the pieces weren't screwed together in the first place.

i know i agree, just sayin it wasnt even flush before he screwed the brace in lol

don't worry about it guys, first time he turns it on and the roof comes loose and breaks, or the "very strong fiberglass baffle" breaks let it be on them

they obviously know it all so when they get done and it does a 148 let it be on them

I'm not here to insult. My honest opinion is that people shouldn't be so bigheaded and think they're the best. If you're not open to suggestions, comments and/or criticism, you won't learn anything new and it's quite obvious that there are some helpful people on this site trying to offer advice. If you want to ignore it, then so be it, but then when you come here complaining about something happening, just know that there will be MANY "I told you so's".
