well thats you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif you probably used that special TCAB particle board too. I got it under control. No need for advice. If this box breaks apart its cause he totalled his car and flipped it.
Don't insult me.

I'm just stating my experiences with Liquid Nails (all of them crappy). The only time I use liquid nails now is if there is a gap in a joint that I need to fill or to completely seall all the joints if my cuts aren't good enough.

Unless you're using some other kind of liquid nails that I don't know about, then more power to you I guess. Liquid nails doesn't bond like wood glue does. Wood glue creates a chemical reaction that BONDS the two pieces of wood together permanently. Liquid nails is just a glue.

Now that I think about it, my single 10" box was assembled with liquid nails. The seal around the baffle broke twice on it even after resining the inside twice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

of all the walls, and all the boxes i've built....i've tried liquid nails as a wood glue it sucks and its expensive and messy...no upside to it at all...

you can buy like a gallon of elmers wood glue for like 30 bucks, compared to 15 tubes of liquid nails and you'll never run out of wood glue.

Liquid Nails is missing the bonding agents that wood glue uses...once you put wood glue on it and clamp it or screw it together the bond becomes stronger than the wood itself.

Personally I use wood glue to build all my boxes, and Liquid Nails as the sealer, liquid nails never fully dries, you can blow it out of big cracks which is why it sucks as a glue

Polyester resin works good as a wood glue too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

A gallon of wood glue is more like $25 for brand name //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Wood glue has enzymes in it that brake down then rebond the wood. It works especially well with MDF because of all of the small particles it is made up of. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I've never used liquid nails as a wood glue so I cant tell you how good it is //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Gorilla Glue is the shiznit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

And everyone says that woodglue bonds are stronger than the wood itself...which is true. What is also true is corners take the most stress in an enclosure...they have shearing forces where as the middles of the walls have bowing and stretching forces (trying to tear the wood and pull it apart).

Think of it this way, if you wanted to brake a sheet of wood you wouldnt try to bend it and pull it apart, you would give it a good wack in the middle.

I'm not saying wood glue isnt good enough, because it is, but saying that holds little watter in the arguement.

And on a side note, I'd add either another layer of wood on the outside of the box or glue and screw 2x4's all around it. Seems like you have plenty of room to do either option.

Doubled up layered panels of that size are still going to flex pretty good.

well unasked for advice is as good as used toilet paper //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif and this is a reason I told him not to post the **** pictures. didnt ask for nor want advice on building it. Had I wanted the advice I would of asked for it. Its not complete bracing is not done yet he just had to post pics to get his attention.

What do you plan on doing to the rest of the enclosure?

I suggest 2x4's for the best cost/thickness/strength ratio. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sorry that I was trying to make this build better and cheaper, maybe I should just keep my knowledge to myself. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif I mean, what could I possibly know, I only bassrace a higher score with one 10" than 95% of this forum can do.

Notice how I said bassrace instead of my "outlaw" scores, wouldn't want to get burned for that one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
