Tommy: yep, that's the plan, and I have PLENTY of room for them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And with the addition of the top piece, I will have two layers of MDF on every side. I really don't have the room for the triple front baffle however.

Well, since you don't have room for a triple baffle, I would some bracing on the inside then. Either some 2x4's on the inside layer, or some all thread through the front and back walls.

how would you secure 2x4's to the box like that
just screwing through?

what size screws?
Glue and screws, lots of screws //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

For screws, 2" should be fine. The more solid, the better.

Also, you can screw each 2x4 in to each other as you stack them up. Obviously you won't be able to do this to the top ones, but it'll make the overall structure solid.

The 2x4's seem to be where its at for ctructure beyond the box itself. I cant wait to get my truck far enough along to make the decision between a box in bed style blowthru, or smaller steering wheel, scoot up seat, and build all in cabin and move the fuel tank.

ya i figure ill use the extra 2x4s i have on top of the double baffled wall, since im not using all thread or anything as far as bracing goes. im prally gonna do 45 degree angles inside and deff gonna resin the whole box, but other than that, nothing really...maybe some 2x4s inside...idk

What kind of screws are you using? Stick to coarse thread screws, and try to shy away from drywall screws they are very cheap for a reason. They are pretty weak and the heads can snap off fairly easily. But if you use enough of them you will probably be fine.

Instead of using a table saw you can use a circular saw or a jig saw if you really have to and a staight edge. Do not use a 2x for a staight edge though, you will find out fairly quickly that most arent that straight.

Good luck, I'm sure that with all of the good advice you can build a very nice wall.

We're using coarse drywall screws. We noticed today when working on a friend's box that the heads of them kept breaking in this one whole... it was crazy. I have access to a circular saw at my dad's house or when I get home tomorrow I can use the jigsaw. I might just go back to Home Depot... it's a block away from my house. I know their cuts aren't great... not sure what I'm gonna do.
