w7 and 1000/1 problem

alright...well....sorry I snapped at you...

I thought you were trying to have another one of those great arguments with me...

I have a anl thumb print right now because of a retard and I am not in the mood for any shit...if anything I wanna go kick his ***.

what i would do is switch the outputs if that doesn't work try another RCA, cause if it's not one of those problems i have no clue it doesn't seem like it could be much else... unless you have still missed some important setting on the amps
hes in the process of doing that now..on the fone with him as we type lol

im not sure if i would rather have that, or have 55vac be passed across my forearm lol

last nite and tonite just be the nights for car audio injuries. last night i busted my lip open when hooking up the amps lol...its still bleeding lol

it ain't no deal i'm use to getting snapped at on here, its very stressfull lol but at the risk of looking dumb i'm gunna ask... wats an anl thumb print? kicking *** kicks ***!

For 2 amps and 2 subwoofers it should be wired like this:

Headunit > RCA > Amp #1 :::: + & - to subwoofer #1

Amp #1 Preamp out > rca > amp #2 :::: + & - to subwoofer #2

Settings on both amps (for now) should only involve the Gain, LPF, and the Infrasonic filter. The others are just a bass boost and have no business in powering the subwoofer "on" or "off". They simply control the bass response.

So, set the INFRASONIC FILTER to about 30hz for now (this value should be set a couple hz lower than the tuning of the box), then set the LPF to 80hz. Now, set the gain by ear if you wish (or DMM) to the correct value for both amps.

Then, try the sub that isn't playing on the other amp to make sure it's good.

Then, try the sub that is playing on the "bad" amp to see if it's just the amp.

come back after that. I'm thinking you may just have it connected wrong.

just switched rca outputs, and they still dont work. so now its either amp settings are off or blown rcas...
just don't be closed minded... those are the most likely problems but thats not saying something else isn't possible.. there are alot of freak things that could've happened also

after you rule those things out.... ok this might not be my best idea ever but hook up a cd player or something with RCA outs to the amp, it will at least tell you if it's an amp problem or not (keep the gains low be careful!, ya never know what kind of voltage is goin through those RCA's )

just like i told him earlier, i bet its something really small and retarded and will feel like a complete dumbass for forgetting...isnt that how it works though? i mean shit, multiple installs under my belt without one thing ever going wrong...something is bound to happen i suppose

oh also you said all this happened when you were changing the voice coil configureation... so its also a possibilly that you wired those wrong by accident, i'd double check that too

yeah thats really true... all the experience in the world won't stop you from makeing a dumb mistake sometimes... any one who tells you they haven't is a dam liar

originally they were wired for .75 per sub (thinking that impedance rise would get it above 1 ohm) but was informed that that was wrong and they need to be wired to 3 ohms per sub. thing is, we listened to them after we rewired them and could tell that they were still playing, only not as loud bc they are at 3ohms vs .75
