W6 vs Type R

alrite guys, so today i blew my type r:crap: ...so im in teh market for a new sub...i have it in a custom finerglass box (2.2 cubes) and a JL 500/1 ready and waiting so my question is should i get another Type R or perhaps a JL W6v2...any thouhts?

really...not even a comparison...id figure there would be a little bit of comparison...what makes the W6 so special?

I think the 500/1 and the 12w6v2 would be a perfect match. However I think that you might need to redo the enclosure to match it to the jl's specs but i could be wrong.

I was a the local shop and was looking at the typer R and i have to say it is an amazing looking sub but i love my 2 w6's and i have to add that they are the best subs i have ever own.

hm...well thats y i was wondering...so i guess my real question is...

which of these to subs will be the loudest/sound the best inside the encolsure i have NOW...becuase i think the encolsure specs for the w6 are preety similar to the type r's...but ill have to check it out

the type R will get louder then the w6 ( at least thats what I've heard from other members here in CA) But the w6 will have the better SQ out of the two.

the enclosure sounds a little big since the the jl requieres about 1.50ft of space ported and 1.25 sealed. What is you enclosure tunned to?

w6v2 > Type R... Always

The SQ will blow you away, the output is exceptional as well. By far one of the best drivers ever produced by JL.

its tuned to 32 hrtz...and i blew it by...well ur gonna laugh...cutting teh wrong wire in my trunk while it was powered up...i blew the fuses for ym dome light and clock 2...lol, oh well, it is time for a change of pace anyway //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have never seen someone reccomend a Type R over a w6v2...

neither have I...and there is good reason, the w6v2 is a very good subwoofer all around...

Definately go with the W6. I'm going all JL in my Camaro, already got my TR 4"s i and they blew me away. They're so small, but they try so hard, LOL! They sound great too!
