w1 vs type r vs w5

the ignorance here is prevalent.

im not saying their bad subs. back a ways i had a 15 type R.

but for the money, id rather save up and get an SSA icon or dcon. not that much more expensive..

and id much rather take the quality and sound of a woofer over price.

now the type r is a OK sub.

but OK is all your going to get with it.

the video about the one type R, big deal, you have a loose mirror. i can get my side mirrors to shake with only my mids..

even a diamond D1 sometimes d3, or RE SE's can be have for the same price.

Yeah well I don't have a proper mic so taking the vid with the mirror is about the only way you can get a feel for how loud it is...and it's not really a loose mirror it's pretty tight, i've seen looser. Just trying to provide a little evidence on what they can do, wasn't trying to show off or anything I wouldn't do that with 1, I'd hook up the second one for that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I agree with you on all your points except I woudln't save more for a better 12, I'd buy a second type R lol.

if the ppi puts out enough juice for 2, get 2. might as well get as much output as possible. you can get them brand new around the interwebz for around 120. It's the best bang for the buck unless you buy used from the classifieds (which is also a decent idea). type Rs are probably my favorite mainstream sub on the market. I would take it over an L7 any day.

The new slim Type-R subs supposedly are excellent for SQ. They use cutting edge technologies, far more advanced than normal Type-Rs. I am not sure about SQL, but if you can afford two of them, I suppose they could get decently loud.
