I think you should really just look to see if the person you are buying from has had a lot of transactions, and have ref's posted in their sig. Most of us know who has been here, and know who to trust. Just watch your ***, there isn't really anything else you can do.

i hate seeing all these refs in sigs when i'm reading a thread. also i don't like to buy from mods. also i think they should improve the search function because when i search my username, it doesn't bring up all the feedback threads. it only brings up threads that are 6 months or older

He's just using You as a POST COUNT example, not as a good/bad seller. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

yes, anyone with above 25 posts per day is a bad example //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

And then everyone will ***** that they have to be a post ***** in order to sell here. For every Eugenics, there is an established, respectable member with less than 500 posts. I can think of a few members off hand that I know from different forums who are extremely respect- and trust-worthy, yet have less than 500 posts.

/making myself feel important.

I have seen this on a couple forums before:

Whenever you enter the classifides for the first time (cookie-set) you can only see the sticky/faqs. Once you read that, you are granted access to the classifides. That will insure people at least SEE the warning beforehand. After that, it's up to the buyer to know what's what.

**** no You havent. We keep an eye out for the sake of fellow members.
Will You see that kind of commrodary here? **** no, prolly not.

SSA people rock, they filter out all the spammers and jackasses pretty well although I did slip through the cracks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif . The problem with ca.com is it's a high volume forum, so with all the good sales comes the few rotten apples that screw it up for everyone else.

Although I agree ref's in sigs are annoying, the search function needs to be fixed so that ALL ref's show up when searching. Half of mine don't show up.

Ugh, I agree... I ****ing hate that. But I hate sigs in general.
Yet you have one.

Irony at its best.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif:naughty://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

But keep it how it is. If people just used common sense, there would be much fewer. I.E. if they have no referneces or feedback, use cod, get all their personal info, phone numbers, address, high school graduation year, etc.....

how would you even begin to know the workings of this particular forum after being here for two days //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Ive been part of a forum before. Its common sense. Pointing out that Im new here has nothing to do with the subject of keeping or removing the classifieds

i took mine out a few weeks ago cause it doesn't really help u anyway, people don't check to see if you are bsing or not //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

not only that, but it takes up space

wow, so I read most of this and just kinda gave up on the 4th page. But I also have an idea... hopefully it wasn't already posted.

But you should need a certain amount of refs to deal or trade over a certain amount of $$$. For example... I have no refs and have never sold or bought anything here, so I should not be allowed to come on and try to sell something for like $1,000 or more or something like that. I should be forced to try and sell some of my cheaper stuff first until people get an idea of who I am... Anything involving really high numbers, you should look for a reference anyways... but some people probably dont. But if people couldn't go for an all out rip off their first try, then that would help. It would cut back on the severity of some of the scams we have seen. It always sucks to lose hard earned money, even if it is only $20 but losing $1,000 is just horrible.

Also, post count is somewhat important... Compare the date they registered to the amount of posts that they have, and you can see who's just post whoring. Also, you can see people's previous posts... why not go read through some of them? Check what kind of person you are dealing with. I know I would not deal with a dumb *** who has poor grammar because they are probably a kid.

anyways, kind of long with several ideas... Maybe they could help. I have never bought/traded on a forum before so my ideas would be bad because I am inexperienced with it. But you will never stop scammers 100% and that is a fact. Even scammers are smart... they will always find ways to scam. So get to know who you are buying from.

when in fact you haven't been here long enough to know in full why this thread was posted //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

The problem is, is someone could come on here and sell a few things for 20 bucks and then rip someone for a grand, so I don't think that this would even work all that well.
