I think it's a nice resource to have a classifieds section here, you just gotta be fastidious about your buyers/sellers as in any other online environment.

even if the classifieds were eliminated you wouldnt stop selling from happening. people always chime in on a thread when someone says they are considering buying something because they have one. ive done it myself. in addition how many people just have a for sale list in their sig? alot from what ive seen. it seems a no win situation. people always adapt and circumvent things they dont like. people should really cover their ***** mor instead of being instantly blinded by something they want listed at a good price.

I agree everyone must start somwhere. Someone gave me a chance on this site,and now I have all kinds of good refs. My post count is below 500 . But that does not mean That I am out to screw people over. Needless to say I belive that the 500 post count idea is B.S. There really isn't mutch we can do people will get scammed if they do not cover their own a##. Mabye people should start listing their Ebay ref, or user name so they can be checked out:crazy: .

I don't see how you could limit it to established members, if that's the case no one else could even establish themselves...I think that basically people need to be more careful, take more precautions, like for example stop using money orders (seems like most scams involve a money order //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif ). I think closing the classifieds would really kill this site.

Ok I just came up with a really weird idea...just stick through this..(I doubt you all will even think about agreeing but...)
Ok so lets say we make the Classifieds have like a "rating" Not individual users but the ENTIRE Classifieds.

For every good sale/transaction/seller or whatever the "rating" goes up a certain number/percent/value...

Catch is....the Classifieds would have to have a certain "rating" to be open....Thatd keep people from posting bs cuz if they did then the entire thing would be closed/locked/etc til the problem was resolved.. (if sale/transaction/seller was "bad" then the rating would drop...like gettin an F when you have a 90...your grade will suffer..)

do you think a spammer cares if AFTER he scams somebody, it closes? Like he would want to come back and try to scam some more... that is a horrible idea.

i don't think that the post count regulation would do crap honestly. i mean (this is just hypothetical), let's assume that jack frost or squeak was a scammer. if this is what they do, and they accumulate 16k posts or so within a years time just to rip someone off for possibly a few thousand dollars, then it's a moot point. so many new people come on here and just wh0re like mad to get "respect" even though they don't know shit. i think that you must have a certain number of references or other validation points to become a seller.

Thats just a bad idea. My ability to sell should not be hindered by other people scamming.

Individual reps is the best idea IMO.

Thats pretty good and would work for the members that plan on continually using the classifieds.....But the scammer that is out for his one scam doesnt care if the classifieds shut down. Thats the only thing about your idea, other than that it's good.
