I didn't really look into this thread too far, but heres my ideas.

Each member will recieve a trading rating. Your rating will be scored apon how your transactions with other members go. I know this won't stop scamming, but it would defintly be a nice feature.. and might prevent some people from getting scammed. This will also help organize our feedback, so we don't have to have 2 sections for feedback.

Paypal donations. You shall only beable to begin a FS/FT/WTB thread if you have upgraded your member status to a premium membership of CarAudio.com. A small donation such as $5.00 or $10.00 would allow members to create various threads and recieve a differen't text'd and colored name above our avatars. The more you donate, the better your name will be.

My last idea is simple. And is the only way to stop scammers in threads. And that is to get rid of our beloved classifieds section and to only rely on pming each other when we sell our items.

Let me know what you guys think.

Dustin

Post count idea is kinda stupid since to be honest i don't plan on posting 500 posts anytime soon, then again I don't plan on selling anything either.

Same as the donate idea, sure donate $10 to rip someone off $200+ sounds like a healthy profit to me.

For people you do not trust or people with deals to good to be true use a middle man that is trusted (iknow even they can turn) Spending a lil extra on shipping (plus some for the middle man, cant exp[ect him to run aorund for free) is WAY better then losing a BUNCH of money.

Also I find some people just seem shady, I got nothing to hide and with every transaction (even me buying) I give them my full name,addy,2 phone numbers and whatever other info they want. I want them to feel secure as I do so I want the same information in return.

My suggestion is you have to have been a ca.com member for atleast a year and have atleast a certain amount of posts say 500+......That way you cant just come on here and sell something you have to atleast stay around here and be active for over a year.

Yea people can still PM others about buyin stuff but then you buy it your at your own risk there.

people that buy or sell should just put deals done in sig like I did, or use like a ebay thing and get ratings but that would prob be to hard to do.

Or we can advise and pick out a few trusted members that would be middle men for a small fee of gas etc to help out in transactions. I for one would be willing to be a middle man not looking to make money just a few dollars for the gas of going to ups. I am sure there are a few others that have great feedback that would be willing as well. Will cost them alittle more because of shipping but it could be worth it.

im gonna have to say upon the date the member signed up and maybe post count. how about a 1 month waiting trial before creating new threads in the classifieds? im sure it can prevent the scammers who are trying to get a quick buck. if you ask, they can just sign up and wait for the scam...then i vote for post count.

but i personally think its buyer beware anytime you buy a product off the internet through a private seller. even used goods at a store. maybe we could get a sticky FAQ on how to watch out for scams, examples of scams in the past, what you should definately have as a buyer/seller, always ask for legit number before dealing, etc.

Now the problem I have with the post count or time limit is people will go away. I went to sign up for a local forum to post that saturn I had for sale and was told by someone here to go there. I went there signed up made a few posts in it saying hi etc, then went to post that. I needed 40 posts and have to wait 20 days. I have not been back to that site since now because that made me so mad.

I didnt read the whole thread, so this may have already been mentioned.

What if once you and another member had arranged the price and payment method, the seller could set up an ebay buy it now auction for the price, naming all the terms of the agreement. The buyer could assume all costs, but i think if i were buying something on the forum i would feel safer if it went through ebay instead of pm's.

So once again ebay makes out, they **** us already. I just sold a car for 400 it cost me 100 total to list it and sell it. I hate ebay even though I use it I try not too.

I voted leave the classifieds how they are. Caveat emptor, if you refuse to do your homework on a seller you get screwed. I haven't had an issue with anyone I've bought from or sold to on here yet because I spend some time looknig at what they've done on here. As for the guy that sayid a FAQ is useless because I just skip over that anyway, you are part of the problem. You are here to gain information, if you are going to buy/sell some equipment on here you should make the effort to protect yourself.

If you are going to impose a wait time to post in the classifieds then 3 months would be about right I'd say. EvolutionM.Net has a 7-day wait for membership approval so you can't even post, all you can do is sit an read all the stickys and posts that are there to avoid so many repeat questions. That would be good to see here.

I don't see a problem

Well i dont think a normal auction usally costs 25% of the sale price.

It was just an idea i thought might work.......
