it depends on what amplifier. if you're wanting to run voltage levels above the standard 14.4 thats some somewhat in-depth stuff. if you're just looking to get rid of voltage drops (im guessing this is what you're talking about) start with "the big 3"

no i have really thick speaker wire and not really that much drop in the power wire i wanted to know if i can go above 14.4

Not with your main vehicle power supply as you'll run the risk of frying your vehicle's electronics.

And not all amplifiers will handle an input voltage above 14.4V.

Unless you are competing, it's not very wise to spend the time and //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif to support a higher voltage system.

What is your reason for wanting to run a higher voltage? Just more power?

don't really know much about capacitors but will look into it just wanted more wattage right now its hittin about 710 watts ( 14.2 volts x 2(25)amp fuses)=710 would like to get it to at least 800

You just need a stronger amp. No point in going to 16v+ for 800 watts
