voltage regulator help

I am trading with another member for an alternator, one that'll bolt in to my car but was made for later version gm models. the alternator has a 2 pin regulator but my 99 grand prix has a 4 pin harness. wondering what all my options are for making this work?

you said it was made for later GM models. GM, like others, use a digital communication protocol to allow control of multiple parameters. but this system wasn't in place until after 2000. Your car is "old school" and it sounds like your alt is "new school".

i don't think you can make it work unless the alt can function without any regulator control. seems like a question for the manufacturer.

thank you very much. just read your accord build. amazing work, I've been planning on an spl system with good sound quality. my cars a pain to deaden though. everything rattles

Foams and fabrics help with rattles but your car is well known for rattle problems. Invest in a ton of foam weatherstripping and treat every mating surface.

could you recommend any good ones? and my entire ceiling fabric has been knocked loose. around sunroof it rattles, the inner lights aboulve rearview rattle, rear deck rattles, I am saving for dynamat but I'm wondering if that's my best option. I'll look into fabric fillers too
