Voltage drop..

Here's a lil bit of info.. I have a 2008 Ford f250 diesel. Dual batteries, stock alt.. I just wired up the elemental design nine.1 amp and at full tilt at idle I've noticed my voltage dropping from 14.10 down to 12.8.. I plan on doing the big 3.. Will that alone be enough?

What kind of battery's?

12.8V isnt very low, do you plan on adding more power?

That should fix it. That amp does 1200W @ 1 ohm, right? I don't know the amperage of the alt, but I'm guessing something in the 110A-140A range. With proper wiring that amperage should be able to sustain that unless a diesel trunk uses substantially more power than a gas car while idling.
How's your ground?

I'd have to recheck on the batteries in there.. Itll make my headlights dim at night which is annoying... If I add anymore power it would be a second amp for the highs...

The amp does 1200 @ 1 ohm @ 12.5 volts I believe it was.. I'm running it at 1 ohm... I almost certain oem alt on my truck is 130...

Big3 and replace both batteries with AGM or maybe just new regular batteries should be fine

nine.1's are nice amps, but as you can tell not very efficient lol

getting 1/0 OFC from your alt, to batts, to sub amp will give you an improvement, as will adding more grounds from chassis/frame/engine/alternator to battery
