Voltage drop

8 gauge for battery to amp or for the big three?

I have the factory 8 gauge big three as well, and if I were you I'd use 1/0.

However, I have spare 4 gauge left over so I will be using that to do the big three on Friday.

Im running a AP 1500D with a DC Level 4 12" wired down to 1 ohm.
My voltage is dropping pretty bad..stock electrical with 8 gauge wire..i know i need 4 gauge i just havnt upgraded it yet. would 4 gauge make it stop?
do a run of 4 gauge from bat to amp and amp to ground and do 1/0 big 3 and your done.

8 gauge power wire..if i did big 3 ill do 0 gauge. i have 8ft of 0 gauge i hope i have enough to do big 3.

yeah i know i need at least 4 gauge..but is that why the voltage is dropping?

get rid of the 8 gauge..get some 4 gauge from knukonceptz or someone off here..there is someone that is selling big 3 kits on CA.com not sure who it is..just search around.

8 ft should be enough for you to do it..not sure what kind of vehicle it is though.

EDIT: I didnt answer your question..Yes that is why your voltage is dropping..your stock electrical wiring cannot handle the current draw from all your aftermarket audio equipment.

Even if you have replaced some of it 8 gauge wont do shitz.

I'd use 1/0 to the amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

well I would too if I could fit where I have the 4 gauge ran LOL.

Im running my wires not even a half inch through where my door opens and closes and no it cant get pinched or anything..but there is a hole just big enough.. 1/0 wont fit through it. already tried some 1/0 Kol flex.

That's why you drill through the firewall. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
have you ever looked under the hood of a chevy malibu? there is no space anywhere to drill a hole..even if I could my hands couldnt fit down there to do it..its safe where I got mine.
