Voltage drop

well I finally got the big 3 done with 1/0 gauage. With the big 3 and the Kinetik I can hit harder and a lot longer. For now I have the two strands of 4 guage from pos on the yellow top to the kinetik in the back. And

the kinetik and amp grounded to the chasis with 1/0. It

may not look pretty. But it works.

Is there any problem with this set up? Should the kinetik be grounded to the yellow top up front? Multiple audio shops said to wire it and ground to the chasis cause it is a power cell being used like a cap? I would have ignored it completly but multiple shops said it and I dont understand why it wouldnt work.

a single yellowtop and you alt can support that amp. do a pos and neg in zero gauge from amp to battery (no grounding amp to frame, only to battery). and then alt pos and neg to battery in zero gauge. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Is there a reason to do this wiring setup over what I have? Just curious. If I have reasoning I have a better understanding

just realized last night when I have the bass up the lights still dim and the stock volt gauge drops. I thought the big 3 and a second battery would stop this?

When you played it last night, was that with your car on/off? And, was the car idle? Does it still drop while driving? You may need an HO alt, or a second alt.

Then yes, either a second alt or HO alt. BUT, since you only have a bad drop at idle, you may be OK with a smaller pulley on your alternator.

why do a 2nd alt to match a stock when a HO would do the trick?
