Nippondenso H/O Alternators?

Why not though, exactly? I can get a 200A alternator for about $1 per amp.

Is there a chance it could be overrated? If so, is there a way to verify it's rating? They claim the above said alternator puts out 100A idle and 180A-200A at 3500 rpm. Ultimately, I'm looking for the cheapest way to add more power to my system. I have the Big 3 with 1/0 and my battery is still good.

Cause you are going to get ripped off bro. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Just because it is cheaper today does not mean it will cost you less overall. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

What I'd like to know is how exactly I can be ripped off, will it be overrated? unreliable? etc....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Who knows? You are rolling the dice with an unknown product from an unknown dealer.

Would you buy Car X from Seller1253 for $2000?

Probably, if the seller has 100% positive feedback. This seller has 100% positive feedback (600+) and has an alternator store. I've searched but can't find any info on Nippondenso.

You know it is pretty easy to rack up good feedback with the intent of scamming people later. The whole feedback system on eBay is a sham. It is about as worthless as the BBB. If you feel good about buying an HO alt from some dudes basement "workshop", by all means go for it. Just don't come back here and post how pissed you are that you got "ripped off". I see those same posts here every day.

Do yourself a favor and call one of the reputable shops that are worth calling. Start with Ohio Gen, DC Power, and MechMan/PowerMaster. Sure those are some of the most expensive, but it is because they make good shit and stand behind it.

The reason the alternator is so cheap is because it is cheap.. End of story...

You'd be lucky to see 80amps at idle with that crap.

The reason people are saying go to someone with more rep is because virtualy everyone giving the advice has at least had one or knows someone who has had a ebay alternator. If you are wanting to be that cheap on one of the most important parts in your car stereo setup, then just leave your stock alternator in there as I'm sure it might even be better. And put out better amperage at idle.

Each on of my alternators will do around 250amps at idle.

i have 2 of his alternators 1 in an 89 chevy p/u (200 amps tested at 226 on the bench) and 1 in the camaro i just sold (160 amps benched at 193) both over 2 yrs old and never an issue.

you can check with db electrical on ebay he is reputable and has a seperate website as well.

not everyone on ebay is crooked, the people that say that are either jealous( cuz they overpaid for the same item elsewhere ), brand loyal or got ripped off, so they say all ebayers are shitty.

One of my mechanic friends swears by Alterstart out of Dallas, so I gave them a try. I am going to have a local electrical shop rewind and rebuild my stock alternator just to have a spare!

As for the more_amps dude on eBay, I highly doubt the alternators he sells are genuine Nippondenso products. Granted, the body is probably Nippondenso, but I highly doubt the whole alternator is because they don't come that cheap OEM!

How do you tell the good from the bad with certainty? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Why does someone sell on eBay vs a B&M store or dedicated website? Why would a reputable, established business use eBay as a marketplace? For a real company, eBay is a nightmare. For a guy just starting out, it is about your only real chance to sell anything. For the crooked fucker trying to rip me off, it is his playground.

ND depends on the size case he's using....ND for hondas is mad cheap...and TnT what alts are you using on what cars that you are getting 250 at idle.....unless my idle is at 2krpm no honda will get the 250 at idle...and 300 is the biggest they make for honda and its not even daily driven capable...

I have a friend that has a DB_Electrical alternator and I will even get reciept and pictures of it and a dyno sheet to show you its a stock unit.. He had a 220amp and the alternator was crap. Right on the casing it says, Motorcraft.

Buy it and see what happens.

I had a alternator from some people they co-work with for my 89 F150 and it totally took a shit on me when I only was pulling a clamped 240amps.
