Voltage drop?

ok i broke out the dmm today....

car off 12.6 volts

car running stereo off 14.4 volts

car running stereo bumping drops to 13.6 volts

is this drop in voltage normal?

seems like a big drop to me.

any thougths on why it is dropping like this?

running 350 watts rms stock electrical big 3 done

all 4 awg.

I don't see anything out of the ordinary either. Keeping it around 14V with stock electrical is nothing to complain about.

thats good kinda what i was hoping for anyways, dont want to upgrade electrical at the moment more pressing needs for my household income.

just seemed like a bad thing when you gte almnost a 1 volt drop when the bass hits

lol should see some of the street A all the way up to street max 3-4 cars in db drags. last year ALOT dropped past 11v

Where you measuring at - Battery? Check at the amp as well if so and vice versa

Could you tell me how you measured all those. I have a DMM too and I need to measure the same stuff u measured but I just dont know where and how to do it

I made all my measurements at the battery.

I just set the dmm to dc voltage and touched the black probe to the - terminal on the battery and didnt the same with the red probe to the + terminal.

Check at the amp, voltage should be lower, might want to double check grounds for tightness and and other power connections. It does seem big for 350rms. Whats the voltage drop to with headlights and rear defrost on?

4 gauge = kinda small...

i use to have voltage drops from 14 to 11.8 lol

Then did the big 3 and got an axtra batt in the back and it drops to about 13.7-13.8 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
