trouble shooting 99 Ford F350

I am helping a friend w/ his 99 F350 Harley Davidson Edition truck. When he got it on a trade in it has Pioneer 5x7's in the front and back. He has a factor HU in there but no sound comes from the speakers. There was 2x power wires 1x ground and about 6 RCA's in the back of the vehicle. I removed all of these wires and reconnected the wires from the 5x7's where they were cut to be wired to the amps that had been removed before we got the truck. The deck powers up but no sound comes from the HU. Any ideas as to what would be causing this?? I don't know if there is a factory amp also. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

pull the stock radio out, see if wires have been cut.

Thanks, 1 more question, are the din keys year specific?? I hardly ever work on Fords.

No all Ford radio keys sould be the same as long as its not a dinosaur.
