Voltage @ 10.8-1.5 at full tilt, will a 2nd battery help?

a shop by me sells 1/0 for $7 a foot... i had to get 2 ft to do an install i came up 2 feet short on and was like omg i hate you never again will i buy 1/0 for more then $3 a foot. (kicker is about $2.50 here sometimes $3)

but yeah your big 3 is fine 4awg can take like 170amps no prob. your alt isnt putting out that much power. and you dont have to spend $600 on a custom alt. i got mine for $150 for a 170amp alt for a escort. it does like 170@ 2k rpms. look for an alt rebuilder locally or pm exsesive amperage for a quote. he does have good prices.

but a 2nd batt is a good idea. it will help take stress off the alt durring heavy bass hits.

Wow your crazy dude. Maybe you should read my post again.

I DO

DO

DO

Have a 0 gauge run of power and ground going to my amp

You dont like that I have 6 6.5" speakers? That supposed to insult me?

And yes, I pay $5/foot for kicker hyperflex and I live in canada, so shipping wire isnt really cost effective

And like multiple people have said to you, my double 4 gauge big 3 is more than sufficient for my 110amp alternator

Please go take your riddalin now

And tymoto, I did get multiple quotes for a high output alt, $600 shipped was the lowest, I dont drive an escort or a civic or a trailblazer where there is a market for HO alts, it was actually quite hard to even find a alt for my engine.

I also priced getting my alt respun at a local alt shop to 165amps, and he wanted $300

i understand that that thats why i said its a waste.. 4 ga can hold 110 amps all day long with no problems.. you didn't need the extra

missinglinkaudio.com module will help out a ton.I was seeing the same voltage 10.8-11.2 AT FULl tilt but i had 3 ohio gens under the hood and 7 batteries, added the module, now at full tilt it rarely gets below 14 volts FTMFW.

talk to the dude with inter linc designs they were selling em cheap even for my car where there aren't premade alts for it

oh a qx4 yeah those cars are gay for parts....

new idea.... im just amazing i know...

get a generic 200amp alt for $250 or so, then go to local fab shop and have them fab a mounting bracket for your car. should cost at most $25.

i know a guy who did that with his civic had a big alt that didnt fit, got the plug changed for the civic and had a guy make a bracket for $10. i think EA charges $10 or something to change the plug on the alt. you would just have to find a way to mount it.

Truth...or you could save like a hundred bucks and buy a resistor and put it inline with the sensor wire on your alt.

You also said I would benefit from upgrading them if my new big3 was shorter runs. Which all 3 are. Especially my alt power wire, which is unfused and only about 26" long, compared to the 50-55" distance the stock wire was travelling into the fuse box and such.

how do you like your mla? i heard they are nice but im kinda scared to put 14+ volts in my batts. does it decrese the life of them at all?

I plan on downgrrading.... Ive already done the big SPL setups (4 15's on 4k) and come summer time when I have trouble going camping cause of what is in my trunk, I might even switch to a single 15....

I just want this setup to be reliable, and 10.8 volts is NOT reliable lol, and I seemt o leave my lights on alot, so a 2nd battery is gonna help the dead battereis to lol
