Voltage @ 10.8-1.5 at full tilt, will a 2nd battery help?

I really think my big 3 is fine, factory wiring was fat and I added 4 gauge to it, so I think Im fine there.
Curious why the guy that posted before you said a 2nd battery wouldnt help me at all.....
adding more wire doesn't help much.. it will pick the least resistant path.. you might as well left the stock there if you weren't going to upgrade..

and he said a second batt won't raise your voltage but it will help it stay up

for example if idle voltage is 14.3 at 0 volume it will be about 14.2 14.29 with a second batt.. but where it helps is say your volt at full tilt is 10.8 it will now be about 12-13

You mean a 2nd battery WONT help my low volt problems? I only run the stereo when the cars on if it matters at all.
The word I was referring to was "running" voltage - which I took to mean your low demand voltage.

Adding a 2nd battery with a smallish alternator will not improve your low demand voltage, but when you're blasting it and the ~14v current of the alt is exceeded your amps turn to your battery (or batteries) for current at something around 12v. The second battery will definitely help you sustain 12-12.5v when the alt is exceeded.

not true. More copper between point a and b = less resistance. This is a good thing.

for the OP grab a second battery run 1/0 to the back ground and power to the back battery. Then re do the big 3 in 1/0 doenst cost much money since u should run 1/0 anyway just buy an extra 10ft of it and 6 extra ring terminals about 20bucks extra and with the extra battery and big 3 in 1/0 i bet you will be up to 13volts

Did you read anything I fukin wrote? The factory grounds, and alt power wire, was 4 gauge. I left that installed. And piggybacked the big 3 in additional 4 gauge, aswell as an extra ground....

As for altbraves, you again, didnt read, my 2nd battery is staying underhood. And you freaking joking, 10foot of 0 gauge and connectors FOR TWENTY DOLLARS??? I dont think so, its like $5/foot... do the math.... and its unnessecary

Thank you n2audio, I was a bit confused as to what you meant as running voltage but I get what youre saying. I cant locally buy any "audio" batteries, so Im gonna see what walmart has tomorrow for there biggest battery cause I know they have a sale on. I'll temp rig that underhood, see what numbers I get, and if its a good improvement I''ll perm mount it, if not I'll pay the $$ to get a good battery shipped to me

 
dude you are a ****ing idiot you deserve to have a voltage that low. You should put the battery in the back if not either way still run 1/0 to the back for power and ground. And dont be cheap do it in 1/0 for the big 3 and yea i can get 1/0 wire for 1.75 a foot dumbass thats 17.50 and you can get ring terminals online a pack of 10 for like 5 bucks. so basically 20 bucks say even 25 is it worth it not to spend 2500 and u have low voltage and you fry all your amps you dumbass or worse your cars electrical componets.

5 bucks a foot for 1/0 haha tell you what i will sell you some for 4 shipped a foot buy 10ft i will do it for 45 shipped hell 40 shipped just for u

go back to your cap and hope u are happy since u have no idea about how to do a install. Should even add a few more sets of speakers to your roof or center console haha

 
add a second battery and upgrade that 4 guage to 1/0 for the big 3 will help some as well.
Pick up one of those stinger spv70s on here hes selling. I am running a 1000cca gold duralast battery(not that great) upfront. with a stinger spv70 in the back. With a run of 1/0 pos and run of 1/0 neg to the back battery with the big 3 done in 1/0 and a stock 130amp alt. i am running a zx1500.1 and zx850.4 only drops to around 12.5 at idle full tilt
There is no point at all to upgrade to 0 ga for the big 3 with a stock alt. 4 ga can handle well over 100 amps especially in that short of a run + his stock wiring.

as for reading yes i did.. piggybacking the same size wire doesn't help unless either..

you are pulling more power than what can go through one..

and/or

you are making a shorter path

if neither of those is your case you just wasted wire..
