vids of mags as requested in other thread

ok i think i found it

there is this mat fabric thing all over the box...its like a cotton looking thing but very coarse and when i smelled it, it reaked of that scent i smell...i have no idea what it is.

but i did notice i have a slight dimming problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i need big 3!

id say woven matt

it looked like that stuff people put near their chrismas trees or youd see it near christmas trees in stores

but deff. a mat

it was all over the inside of the box lining it.... i guess that was his "secrets"

vent:

and then when i pulled off the panel to see the amp, the glue was to strong and took off layers of the panel and i ended up creating a nice BIG wrinkle in the carpet

so yea i pretty much accomplished nothing

what a **** day

/vent

immacomputer you sure on that? the box is only 4.2cubes....

as bad as it sounds...i took me like 20 minutes to put that **** sub back in because i kept dropping screws and puttin them in crooked cuz the ****n thing wudnt line up

so im not sure if i want to go through that again

cruisn concepts in deland FL did the install

Still sounds like something isn't right.... I would meter the wattage that you are getting and then take out any excess matting... If the cone is just getting "warm" then you shouldn't be burning anything up, if it gets hot enough to hurt the speakers you would know it right away by touching it.

Check and make sure that the speaker is making a good seal too.....

on the sub i took out...the negative goes negative positve to positive...then into the wire that goes up through the box...in the first pic you see the blue wire come up and split into four and go into the amp....the wire from EACH sub comes up and then splits like that into the amp...what it means...no idea.... .5ohm? no idea

how can i meter the wattage?

will removing the mat make it louder? what are the benefits of that....?
Get a test CD and read the voltage of the amps at a constant frequency.... Then use Ohms Law...

Well, if you have too much mat it will over deaden the box and make it too "stuffy" sounding which could be effecting the output....
