very budget sub

You wont find a sub that runs adequately on h/u power. For one thing, how do you plan on using a crossover? And that's ignoring the problems associated with sending the subs a realistic 8-10 watts max.

a dvc 12" would run decently off the HU power, enough to be heard atleast. Ive ran an old audiobahn dvc 4 ohm 12 off the 2 rear channels on an older kenwood using low pass filters in the lines, and it ran it pretty good. Was for one of my friends who didnt have an amp but wanted some bass anyhow, in a little pontiac sunfire.

yea it is. i dont care about having an amp, its the budget thats holding me back. 75 for EVERYTHING total
f*cking go get a job are wiring cost around 100$...save up some money and come back just go get a pop can and beat it if u want bass

Chase if you dont have any valuable input why dont you stay out of the thread?

22$ for a hifonics 12" cant really get anything better for the price. Thatll run you prolly 30 with shipping and all. Then you can wire it in parallel to the factory sub out, and get a decent sealed box. If you know someone that works at best buy you can get the 1.5 cu ft sealed 12 box for 15$ //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

chase, this is my dads not mine. i already mentioned if it was mine id pay the extra, as i did when i got my speakers, but this is him. he doesent want to pay more. so shut the **** up if you dont have anything to help.

dr chronic, the factory amp is a bose, and is the problem as to why the stock wont work right now. so thats out. id have to run off HU or a seperate amp. if i can get that shipped for 30, i have ~45 for amp. ill build a box, i think i got some mdf laying around

bass tube, powered sub-woofer
This is your best bet... or get a TB and a small amp. (Tang Brand... you can find them on parts express. A lot of "computer speaker" companies use them for their subs. Like all of the Logitechs are TB. They sound really good, and generally don't need a lot of power to get loud. My 8" only needs 100 watts.

You can get the sub for $30, the amp will run you for about $30, too. You just have to keep an eye out, and for 100 watts, you won't need more than 8 amps, so you can use 12awg wire.

I just looked on parts express... http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-480 ($30)

and just look on the classifieds for a cheap amp. Either 80 watts x1 @ 4 ohms, or 40watts x 2 @ 8 ohms.

i would take out the bose sub to find specs if you can and just get a low powered sub to fit back in that location. os subs are very efficient fyi. but you need to find out size and impedance first. os series one fosgates, mtx rt or terminators etc.

if he has the bose system i would think he has stock amps not hu power. i would think it would be more like 40 or 50w if this is the case.
