ok some ppl on hear have told me that you can put a battery charger on a sub and it will work better is this true ? it don't make since to me because household power is A/C and don't a battery charger convert it to D/C and a amp takes in D/C and converts it to A/C .so wouldn't hooking a battery charger to a sub be the wrong type of voltage for them and burn them up ? please bear with me im kinda new to car audio i mean i know how to install it but im new to the whole tech aspect of it

if you do it, the sub would lock in one position and smoke until it is completely fried.
So do it and video tape it.
Pretty much hit the nail on the head. The sub moves with alternating current, so a direct current would just shoot it to one position and hold. While it would look badass, it would end your sub's life.

DO NOT HOOK UP YOUR SUB TO ANYTHING BUT AN AMP! :X

I'm ashamed how some of you people take advantage of these new people to car audio. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Like anybody remember the one time some guy came on here asking about something vs Xplodes and clearly the other choice was better but everybody convinced him to buy the Xplodes? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif That was a sad day for CA.com.

**** haha that sucks

next time i find a sub in the trash ill do it a video tape it and put it on hear . :Dbut what made me ask this question is i got a sub that the guy next door brought me a little bit ago and i put the up a post about how do you see how many ohms a sub is and some one told me to do that but im not mentioning any names you can check the post out and see for your self

I think you are mistaken here, battery power is DC and alternating current is what is in a house...

i wish you guys that posted in this thread would mess with the OP, tell him yeah its a good idea and that everybody does it, let him hook it up and then come back here crying with pics of the killed fried subwoofer.

i guess that would be the thread of the year.

and btw thats the most retarded thing ive ever heard.

I have a couple Solo-Barics I'd like to try it with but neither work. One's got a blown coil and the other is missing the positive lead into the cone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
