how much should i pay for a used handgun? im thinking 9 mm or .40

Glock is what everyone at work is suggesting,of course. except for the one gun nut i work with who recomended some brand that strats at like a g.

just need something reliable, doesnt have to be "name brand". ive seen a brand called hi point that has mixed reviews and they have guns that strat at only like 150 new.

anyway if i do get a glock or somehting similar what should i expect to pay from a pawn shop etc.

around 350-400 should be a good price. New they are about 500-600 and they dont lost their value. I wouldnt pay more then 450 total for a used .40, and about 400 for a 9mm. Id get a glock, Hi-Points are pieces of sht, and when you have a gun, you want it to go bang every time. Cant go wrong with a Glock. Ive got the G22 .40, awesome gun, ive put over a thousand rounds through it and its never NOT gone bang.

Oh and what is the intended purpose of this gun?

Depends if you're planning on carrying the gun concealed or just get one to have. IF you're looking to get a Glock in .40 (which id suggest over the 9mm) id say your best bet is the Glock 22 (if you're looking to just have the gun) or a Glock 23 (to carry with you) The difference is the Glock 23 is slightly smaller and easier to conceal. It does however carry 2 less rounds, but I doubt you'll ever run across a situation that'll call for all 14 rounds.

You can check out gunbroker.com if you want updated current prices on used guns. Both guns are very reliable and fun to shoot. If you're considering the 9mm version, the equivalent would be the model 17 (same size as the 22) and the 19 (same size as the 23)

You can head over to Glocktalk.com if you wish to dig up more info for yourself, ill warn you though. Dont get carried away and think you need 3-4 handguns right off the bat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif They tend to get addicting for some reason.

Remember to factor in price of ammo. Unless you dont plan on shooting much, then dont worry about it.

G22 holds 10 + 1. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Desert Eagle .50 AE!!! They're big. They're bulky. They're quite inaccurate at range. But they sure can make someone staring at the end of the barrel shit themselves.

Here's

of one in action.

In all seriousness, I'd try to find a nice S&W .38 or one of the mentioned Glock models.

Maybe yours does //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif though I dont understand why you'd have that in texas //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif last I checked texas gun laws either best or 2nd best in the country. Az, and Tx have the most lax gun laws.

However thats the restricted (california) model. The standard G22 has a 15+1 capacity.

Hmm..that is definantly interesting...especially considering i got mine from a cop. Im assuming its just the clip correct? So i could find the larger clip and use it?

That stinks. Unfortuantely, no its not just the magazine. I believe the handle has restrictions molded into its design. So I doubt a 15 round mag would fit. You can find out more precise info over at glocktalk, im sure of that.

You can always pick up a 15round mag and try it, if it doesnt work, well you can just pick up another G22 thats unrestricted //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The G22 comes with 10 round clips. Glock makes the 14 and 15 round ones you can buy. Texas has no restrictions and the guns are the very same you can buy.

My suggestion...If you want cheap and still a good gun. Either go with Ruger, Glock, or a used Sig.

Run hard and fast fro a hi-point. Ive had a few jam up and scare me.
