Used Car... Ripped Off By Dealer

This many.
Well, I purchased a 1995 Mazda 626 from Die Hard Motors in Thomaston Georgia, and the dealer said there was no engine problems, the only problem was the sunroof didn't go back and the radio didn't turn on. He said that he drove it to work and back home for 2 weeks. Not even 3 hours after I purchased the vehicle, the engine light came on. I figured it was nothing bad. I drove it for a couple more hours, and my overdrive off light started flashing and then the car revved up to 5000 rpm's and came to a halt, almost throwing my girlfriend and I out the front window. It would still drive, but only about 15 miles per hour. When I got home, I looked at the engine and noticed that the negative battery terminal was very loose -- to the point where I could remove it from the battery post with my hand easily. I let the computer reset itself by leaving the termnal off the battery for about 15 minutes and the problem was gone... until the engine light came back on, and it did the exact same thing again the next day. I went up to the dealer that day and asked him about it and he said there was nothing he could do, that the car was mine and out of his responsibility. So, I'm pretty pissed off. It didn't come with a warranty and was sold as is... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Guess I'm screwed and out of $2,650.

well, ***** to hear, but anytime u buy used, ask for a test drive and take it to a shop and pay them $80 to run a diag and to look the vehicle over real well, yea you might spend $300+ on diag's and **** on different cars but it saves you from wasting 4 grand on a car

take it somewhere and have it checked out and good luck

That *****.

Check the transmission fluid, and go get your codes read at an auto parts store. The tranny may be crapping out, or it might be a bad speed sensor, or something else that can be read with a scanner.

im not reading that.
split it into better paragraph structure.

Dam nit.
dude bought a car, next day engine acting up(sounds like a ecu problem), thought it was battery, ****ed up again, dealer wont do nothin, he lost 3 grand on the deal

the end

yeah you really should of had an independent mechanic check it out. might want to check ur state laws and see what they say about buying used cars. iknow with some states there is an implied 3k mile warranty when buying used.

sounds like they knew it was doing that ****. he prob kept the cable loose so he could easily disconnect the cable and reset the computer after somebody test drives it or something. but since they screwed you out of your money ill see if i can find my ultimate revenge book and send you the car salesman section. has alot of things you can do to get back at car salesman that screw people over.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. After I repeated what he said about him driving it for 2 weeks, he denied it and said he got it from an auction 3 days ago and hadn't even driven it. I don't think I'm gonna be taking revenge on him though, not really my kinda style, but I do want to advise other people from buying from them... ****, I wish someone would steal my car and total it so I could get money back from insurance or some ****.

It ***** being a broke college student with no transportation and a shitty job...

hmmm try to get your insurance company involved. check your state laws and see if there is a "lemon law" and if they are required to show you a vehicle history report of some type before selling you a car. Get a free consultation from a lawyer, flip through the phone book and see. Contact the better business bureau, go on their website and see if the dealership is on there.

whats the number and address of this dealership

after doing some quick research, it looks like you are ****ed.

Id still say see if a lawyer can help you and get your insurance company involved. Put ads in the paper and get the word out for people to not buy from them.
