Used Car... Ripped Off By Dealer

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. After I repeated what he said about him driving it for 2 weeks, he denied it and said he got it from an auction 3 days ago and hadn't even driven it. I don't think I'm gonna be taking revenge on him though, not really my kinda style, but I do want to advise other people from buying from them... ****, I wish someone would steal my car and total it so I could get money back from insurance or some shit.
It sucks being a broke college student with no transportation and a shitty job...
hmmm try to get your insurance company involved. check your state laws and see if there is a "lemon law" and if they are required to show you a vehicle history report of some type before selling you a car. Get a free consultation from a lawyer, flip through the phone book and see. Contact the better business bureau, go on their website and see if the dealership is on there.

whats the number and address of this dealership

after doing some quick research, it looks like you are ****ed.

Id still say see if a lawyer can help you and get your insurance company involved. Put ads in the paper and get the word out for people to not buy from them.

Cool, thanks Devillain, I'm gonna see if there is anything I can do about this. Only thing is that I have no proof that he lied, other than maybe records of my car being towed to the garage the day after I got it, that's about all I have.

You bought As-Is, once the car left the lot anything & everything that happens to it is your problem.
too bad you're not in cali (OP). no such thing as "As-Is" here. seller is still responsible even if the car is sold in As-Is condition //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Lucky Californians... All I can do is cross my fingers and hope that I can collect insurance money (minus the hospital bill, of course).

Post up on your local Yelp.

"AS-IS" generally means as-is, so if you want something decent, be prepared to pay for it from dealers who offer good guarantees or be prepared to deal with the problems. Even if a vehicle starts off good and the salesman is honest, eventually something is going to wear out or break down. We have yet to come up with a maintenance-free car...LOL!

In Coos Bay, the local Toyota dealer sells used vehicles with a 3-day money back guarantee. The Chrysler dealer offers long warranties on their used vehicles. Both dealerships do a solid inspection before offering them as "certified" vehicles. The junk stuff gets wholesaled. Watch your local dealerships to see which ones have good policies, which ones are just selling puffery and which ones offer nothing. Today's vehicles are much more expensive to buy and fix than they were back in the 1960's/1970's.

lemon law.

should have had a mechanic check it out but they cant tell you there is nothing wrong when that is obviously something that wasnt a new problem.

take him to court for the amount of the car and court fees
