upgrading electrical?

2500W rms on a regular basis is extremely difficult to achieve, unless you like listening to test tones. music is dynamic and most recording rarely have enough well recorded and mixed low end.

regardless, you'll most likely need at least one 300A HO alt, a bank of AGM batteries, and a few spools of 1/0 wire. solder your ring terminals, color code you wire, and take good care to properly fuse so you don't set your truck on fire.

monitor voltage constantly and ensure the system is able to maintain >13.5V while driving and listening at your desired levels. plan on spending a $1500 in electrical upgrades - good batteries and a good alt are expensive.

maybe he wants to stabalize voltage? maybe he wants to compete? they do that in NC. you saying a single starting battery is sufficient for competition? i think A USACi competitor knows better than that.

i recongized that "daily listening" will not require much draw as the actual power demand will be lower with music. but to actually answer the question of daily output at 2500W RMS is different. as unlikely as it is, that was the question.

the term "bank" is relative as the quantity really depends on the size of the batt and the expected demand and duration. maybe one large battery, maybe four smaller batteries. there are arguements for both approaches.

and this is also assuming he can actually acheive that on a regular basis with the unkown equipment. maybe it's Boss Audio and this conversation is pointless. Maybe it's good stuff and he just wants to pound the streets.

instead of criticising a valid (albiet conservative) response, you could provide your own insight and experirence... since that is what this forum is supposed to be for. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

lol are you serious?

im in the same situation and my plans are:

1) red top up front already

2) Big 3

3) 250 amp alt.

4) one run of 0 gauge

5) Two deka 9a31s in the trunk.

Im pretty sure this should be enough for close to 3500-4000rms but i would rather have more then not enough power! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
