unhappy with my system

Should make a crx box for the blazer, where the subs are facing up and the port facing the lid //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

should work good. 2 12's have more cone area than one 15 so in the right enclosure they would get louder

hmm... i am still going to fire the sub and port towards the rear because i'm making a concealment over the whole @ss end of my blazer so when ppl look in they can't see my box... (that's how it all got stolen in the first pace, but i was lucky to make 300 bucks at a yard sale to buy new stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) i hope a new box helps... if not, i can deal //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif it does get Loud, no question about it... just hard to believe it when you don't feel it as much as you'd like... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

True/False- Box tuned around 30 htz will "feel" louder than a box tuned around 35?

Anywho, i will let you all know how it sounds in a new box... Thanks for the help!

If you're looking for that "kick" or "punch", you're not going to get it out of your sub. You need to consider looking for a good set of components if that's what you feel is missing from your setup.

WHAT?????

how are components going to give you a kick you can feel? thats what the sub is for.

my components are xoverd at 125hz from my deck and my sub at 80hz. my subs give me one hell of a kick.

a component is going to make you sound stage clearer. not knock the air out of you.

What he's saying is that the 'kick' you feel is midbass, which your midbass speakers 'should' play, not your subs. They should play sub-bass.

A lot of the time people come around here saying, "I want a sub that feels like it's kicking you in the chest when it hits". The reality of the case is most of the time, that "kick" they're looking for is midbass. People will start complaining because their subs don't "hit hard" and that's usually because they have a subwoofer but nothing to cover midbass frequencies. A good set of components properly powered and crossed over correctly should certainly help get the "punchiness" they're after.

all is good... am happy now... got my amp set correctly at a lower volume.. 3/4's is way too high for my stock speakers so i set it 5 or so intervals lower and it is a big differance... i also balanced my fade out... i faded it a bit to the rear, makes the sub sound a bit more pronounced... I believe the reason i wasen't happy yesturday was A: have allergies, ears were plugged... B: my highs were too loud therefor my sub didn't sound loud to me.. C: Gain was set wrong...

I figured since the screws on my cheap partical board box are all out about a 1/4 inch, it must be thumping pretty decent, so i turned it up a bit and sure enough it's hitting right... When i make my new box out of mdf, should give me a bit better sq and should keep more of the air in and firing out the port... so, i am already very pleased.. but an MDF box will definately help out...

Also! I made a "tahnoe" type cover for the inside of my blazer, that stretches out to about a foot behind my front setats, or retracts if i want my seat up... This should keep unwanted company from seeing my system... because that's how it was stolen before... ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX A DOOR LOCK? lol it's literally comes out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/help.gif.cee8f684da1ba626487a8bc51152e1ec.gif

Peace!

I agree... what i did was set my subsonic filter right around 35htz and set the frequency at which my sub produces sound a little higher... this allows my sub to hit a little bit higher frequencies without bottuming it out which ='s better sq IMO...

helps out with the "hitting" portion of my system as well... Believe it or not

Well no wonder it sounds bad, frikin partlcle board manYou must have some mad flexing going on there

Agreed. DEFINITELY get a new box for it, before doing anything else. If you got it to make you happy in the particle board box, youll jizz your pants with the right box.
