Ok so i bought a uberwoofer from defcon X. and look what happen.

i dunno if it will be ok when it starts excursion. if its just gonna tear. It seems like its pretty deep. What would u do. This is 1 of 18 ever made. Sorry aboiut the shitty pics. But theres a gouge there and it goes pretty deep.

i cant see chit, but if its a gouge in the surround, id find out exactly what the surround is made of (exact material) and see if i can get some liquid form of it and squeeze some in the gouge and let it dry completely = perfect repair.

dont risk makeing it worse by useing it b4 you repair it.

if there's no hole in it, it shouldn't be a huge problem. my MT had scuffs all over the surround from shipping and i've been wailing on it for a few weeks now with no problem...

Was it insured when it was shipped? If so...don't mess with it at all until you file a claim, and get what you can from it. You may get reimbursed for the entire driver, or for a re-cone...but not if you touch it first.

Take some time, go through the channels, and see what you can get done.

EDIT: Scuffs are one thing, but a "deep gouge" could weaken the surround, which can turn into a tear, which can lead to non-linear excursion, and bad bad things eventually.

theres not a hole in it. no daylight can be seen. but its pretty thin where it is gouged. I doubt TC would even recone it back to specs. since it was a 1 time thing.

uberwoofer only 18 were ever made ever. And ill find out if there was insurance on it. I dont wanna give it up really.

Yes, it had $300.00 insurance on it.

Now that I am looking at the skuff again I would say that the way to go would be to probably patch over it with some silicone (even though it may look haggard) and you should be set.

Grr... Stupid DHL, I even crated it so that this kind of crap wouldn't happen. I guess out of five sent packages one was bound to get damaged.

EDIT: It really looks as though it caught the blunt side of the crate (maybe even the top) and got nice and scraped; they must have really thrown the shit out of that package. *Thanks DHL*

Lets see what we can do with DHL, I want you to get the $300.00 insurance money AND keep the Uber.

yea i know chances are it will be fine. But i felt both sides. and i can feel my finger moving ont he other side of the gouge. like its so thin under heavy play it hink it will just tear. And im not blaming anybody here. it was packaged more then it had to. Same way i packaged my uber when i shipped it. Crated it and wraped a towel around it........ (thanks for your towel BTW). it seemed like it was thrown around. broke the crate shifted and flipped up side down and it dug strait into the surround. I didnt check the coils or push the sub in hard so i hope the motor and stuff is ok. Cause i shipped a IDMAX once that was in perfect condition when it left. Got to the other side and it was making a TERRIBLE scratching noise from the coil.
