Type X user's /box designers....tell me something

On Alpine's website...they recommend 11 sq in. of port (11" x 1") 22 inches long. It seems to me like that would be a ton of port noise with the amount of power i'm going to throw at em. What is everyone else using for their port's? Keep in mind that these are the 10"s. Also, i'm shooting for tuning of 30htz, if you just wanna kick out a port size for me.

When I made my buddy's box for his 12" Type X I used that. It turned out really good, and I didn't get any port noise or anything like that.

Is that bad?

I just gave it too him cause it seems to work good for people who don't know exactly what they are doing with ported boxes. (like me)

nah i dont like it....you have to do too much to make it work.

then again i design so that may be another reason.
