Well i just got 2 Alpine Type X 12's. And i have them in a shitty ported prefab right now & powering them with a MMATS 3100.1 Im goin to build a new box for them but i have no idea how many cu.ft. they like and what to tune the box to. They are going to be in a Suburban and i just want SQ not boomy shitty bass. I want the bass to be nice and tight. Anyone have any experience with Type X's ??

Well yes but i would like to get the most out the setup. These are power hungry subs. Im thinking 2cuft per sub tuned to 35hz. Any opinions?

Alpine states 1-1.25 cuft sealed. / 1.5-2.0 ported .......3cu.ft. might be a bit much

No, Alpine's Steve Brown states in last months issue of CA&E that 1.5cF each sealed is what they recc, even if you'd email or call that's what they'd say.

I'd still say ported.

If not 4th order then I'll recommend sealed. As far as SQ goes.
