Type X 10's need some Alpine power

Ok my buddy is currently ordering 2 Alpine Type X 10's. He thinks that he will get enough power from a MRD-1000...or however that model is listed. To lazy to correct the model listing, but you guys should know that amp he is wanting to get. Now I know Alpine makes good products and are usualy true to their ratings, but I just dont see one amp doing the job for those massive 10's. If this is ok I would like to know, but if not is there another amp that Alpine makes that will push both of those. He doesnt want to spend crazy money, but he does want to keep everything all Alpine. So one amp is what he is heading for. get two of emm, i dun think alipne makes a more powerful amp, and u going to want to have those subs running wut they are capable of

be cool get an orion 2500D it will be worth it =)

or look into the Pdx series by alpine instead of the MRD v12 ones.

You don't have to give them the full RMS rating. They will perform just fine on the mrd1000.

Will they be in a sealed or ported box? And what vehicle?

They are going to be in a sealed box. The vehicle which they will be in is a 98 Honda Prelude. He is taking the back seats completly out and facing the subs in from the trunk. Plus making the back look clean from the seats being gone. So the box will mostly be in the trunk just the subs will be facing torward the front of the car.

go big or go home, get a amp that pumps 2000 rms it be worth it

im going buy one 1100 rms for my 12" type x

the mdr will stil get loud, my buddi running the mdr600 on his and it rumbbllessss (his is ported tho)

Get two of them. I had two MRD-M1005's on my two Type X's and I wouldn't give them less than that IMO.
