type-r's

1 ohm load rising to what? Impedence rise isn't negligible as far as power output goes. It's stupid to try to estimate what power as the impedence changes with frequency. You got confused on why. I am positive you did not run 1700+ watts to a single type r for a few minutes. I ran one on 500 clean watts for a few seconds and it blew.
It was on a pair as I stated before.

I didn't measure it. And come to think of it my voltage was like 50 on accident because of my EQ settings so it was seeing clipped power. Look up jacob's article on impedance rise and music. From what I remember his tests showed that impedance rise with music was irrelevant due to sound waves in music being square waves.

LOL! Sound waves in music are not square waves. Impedence is dynamic on music because it changes with frequency. It can go below nominal and above nominal. What amp was all of this going on with?

Ok, so Jacob does NOT say music is square waves. He says the opposite. Also, that graph shows exactly what I stated above so you proved my point. Thank you. Also, that hifonics amp can't do 50 volts. That would be 2500 watts at 1 ohm. So you're making things up. That amp is just not capable of doing that. That 42 volts at 1 ohm would be around 1700 watts. With even .5 ohm of rise from there you're doing right around rated. .5 ohm is not much rise. The likelihood of you having ONLY .5 ohm of rise is bad. There's no way you have less than .5 ohm of rise though... so you have actually disproved that you powered a type r over rated. I don't mean to be a dick but I'm tired of people saying they know about something when they don't have a clue. You just get into this circle jerk of a bunch of people who THINK they know and spread misinformation to each other.

If i'm not mistaken 50v of clipped power is 20x worse than that same clean power. I read that article a long time ago (read the date) and my reasoning still holds true as music is similar to a square wave.

If i'm not mistaken 50v of clipped power is 20x worse than that same clean power. And aren't you the guy who can't hook up RCA's correctly and crying about his XPLODs being louder than an LVL4 XL //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
You're just making things up all over the place aren't you?

Yeah 50v of clipped power WOULD be worse, but that amp isn't capable of putting out 50v so you've been caught lying.

XPLODS!!! LOL wtf are you even talking about.

So you're telling me my amp can't put out clipped power? Sorry got mixed up with another guy on the xlpod thing.
