looking to run one 15" sealed... max space 3.5 cubic ft, budget $400, watt max 1000 @ 2ohm. i listen to 80% metal. need the sub to play low, get loud, sound clean, and keep up with my fairly loud front stage.
gonna run ba spz comps with 350 X 2What does your front stage consist of?
I have an rlp 15 in 4.2 tuned to ~35hz crossed at about 70hz and it gets loud enough to flex my back window and the roof immediately around the window. The sq is very good.. Im sure sealed it would do exactly what you want.
BTW good luck finding one... I have not seen one up for sale for a long time now. Ill actually be looking for another one in a few months tho...
The GTI is very nice choice as well. Great clarity. Never personally heard one sealed' date=' however. Considered running a 12" ported?[/quote']
my last two systems had ported enclosures... was never really satisfied with them. i could always hear a little port noise. i cant stand that. wasn't an install issue... only ported enclosure i ever heard that i could live with was some hertz subs. very nice sound... exspensive as hell !
Im not sure with an rl-p 15 sealed will satisfy your sql needs with that much power on your front stage. Perhaps ported. Have you tried aeros? Thats what im using and i have 0 noticeable port noise. If you can fit'em there awesome. Although with only 3.5 cubes you might not be able to realistically fit them in the box with out an elbow for any sub. Someone on here was selling some for really cheap just the other day too.
dont have the amp yet... i think i can step it up to 2000 watts. that ssa xcon looks pretty good. i dont think it will sound as good as the jbl, but looks like it will get loudercongrats on a worthy thread. thank you. id like to add that ive heard a GTI sealed and it played pretty well. with a box that size, it should hit lows pretty well but do you think 1K is enough power?
