type R's installed in my hatch today *thoughts*

in my old car i had two 12 inch rockford fosgate HE2s powered by a 700 watt amp, the sound was good and loud, i remember blowing a sub now and then and being stuck with one sub for a few weeks till best buy replaced them so i didnt like having one sub..........

the other day i got my 2 apline type r's installed in my acura rsx

now i have these subs powered with an 800 watt amp

they are insanely loud like way louder than the previous subs

is this because its a hatch or just the extra 100 watts or a combination of both reasons?

im thinking of ditching one of the subs to save trunk space oh and by the way the gains are pretty much completly down on the type r's on the old car i dont know what they were set at

do you guys think i would be ok with one sub???

is 800 too much for a type r

i have an rsx also and pretty much anything you throw back there gets loud

what type of amp do you have ? and what type of box ?

if there sealed i would sell/return one and build a ported box for your single

i have a sealed box, why do you think i should go ported? isn't sealed tighter bass?

5 cubic feet, they only ask for 1 cubic foot, isnt that too much space?

He prolly has them ported 2.5 cubes per driver

yea but for the type of music you listen to "tight" doesn't matter. port it and you should gain 3dbs (twice as loud). and ported can sound very very good if you know what your doing.
