box is already built from previous setup(sold sub).looking for overall output w/some sq.the alpine type r 15 looks mean, but i like the mach 5 audio ixl 2.2 . I currently have for my temporary setup 1 maw 15.the box is to big for it but it does fine until i get a new sub.heres the thing, amp is a rfp1000bd-1215@1ohm. box is 4cuft.after port and sub disp. port is 64 sq in @ 20 in long tuned @ 36 hz.does anyone have experience with the ixl line yet?they look well built(as my maw is) but ive heard and seen some loud r's.given my box which sub would suit my needs best of mostly spl w/ a little sq?oh and the r is about 25$ cheaper on ebay.(could also throw kicker cvx in the mix as they are the same price roughly)

If it is sheer output you desire, I would suggest grabbing the R. The IXL-15 is geared more for quality of output. If it gets loud in a given setup (and it has) I would consider that to be a fringe benefit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Best,

There is plenty of people with the Type R. Plenty of box idea's out there for it. Neither the IXL or Type R have had a complaint on output that I have seen, but clarity on the other hand, the Type R has not built a name on clean sound.

IXL: 2

Type-R: 1

Mach5 Winner. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Coming from a kicker 15"L7 and 2x12" Type -R I would agree, I've also owned a 12"RL-p. The R's are BLAHHHHHHH, they're just loud slaps.
