Type R or ED 13kv.2

I want to install one 12 in the back of my 88 mustang. Which would be better for my application? Here is the deal:

1. I'll install it in the spare tire well of the hatch. This will require me to build a box. I thought about doing fiberglass but have decided to build a box that will raise above the floor. I will then raise the floor to meet the box and build a couple of cool little storage compartments. I'll build the box to the correct specs of the sub I get.

2. I like all kinds of music (rap, rock, country.....). If I can understand the words then I can listen to it. This means I will likely stick to a sealed box.

3. I don't have an amp but will buy one from ebay to fit the sub.

4. I only want to spend around $130 shipped for a sub. This means I'll likely use ebay to purchase the type R or order the ED directly from their site.

5. I am more concerned with the SQ over SPL.

6. I've only had two systems in my life. One was a 10 inch JBL hooked up to a US acoustics pumping 280 RMS. The second was two 12 inch XPLODs hooked up to a sony amp each recieving 200 RMS. I enjoyed both setups. What can I say: I'm uneducated in this arena.

I guess this will be all for now. Sorry its so long but I need some help:)

hmm.. not really a huge ed fan..

but i suppose its hard to recommend the R for an application liek this.

out of the two i say kv.2 but i also think there are a lot of different routes you could go for a single 12 sealed, inexpensive setup looking for SQ.

What is wrong with the R for this application? I'm also up for a few different options. I'm reading my head off about subs right now b/c I don't know alot about many different subwoofers. Most of the stuff I see sounds like off brand stuff (because I don't know the name). I just recognize names like Kenwood, Alpine, Pioneer, Sony, Audiobaun, Rockford Fosgate.....

I'm open to a different avenue but I don't yet know where to look.

they need a lot of power to reach their potential, they arent very recommended in sealed apps.. theyre more of a decent sounding street beater than an SQ sub in my opinion..

It seems as if there are differing opinions on this. I've heard that they don't sound good in sealed enclosures but I've also heard they sound great. This is why I need to hear it. Any other recommendations?

Now I am debating on the assassin sub instead. Any thoughts?
Heard all good things....and I like mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Judging by your previous experience with your setups...you should be happy with the SQ of the assassin....
