type R help quick!!!

I went and got a " type R today...in 3^ft @ 30hz i have one BD1000 on it at 2ohms sounds ok but it got HOT! in like 5 min. of playing it...what the H3LL is wrong???? gain lil past half way up...my kicker CVR takes more punishment then this and the R is rated 250wrms more...HELP ME PLEASE

sounds like you are probably clipping it.... so are you using bass boost or anything like that?

Is it wired correctly?Is the type 'R' a dual 4 ohm?Is it a dual 2 ohm?Are there 2 subs or one?Makes a huge difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sounds like clipping, but cut could also be excess glue bruning off

its dual 4ohm wired at 2ohm on a RF bd1000 single woofer

That's around 1000wRMS (average birthsheet) to the woofer alone.

Not sure on the power handling of type Rs, but doesn't this sound like a bit much?

how did u set ur gains? is the woofer getting hot, or warm? my dustcap on my treo gets warm if i beat on it but getting warm is ok. hot isn't ok.

i have the subsonic filter on...100hz low pass and gain 1/2 way up. and the woofer is getting hot...but it sounds ok to me...i dont understand lol how long would it take to burn off the extra glue???

why is the gain set at half? did u set it with a dmm, an o-scope or just guess?

i think im confused on how to use the DMM to set the amp...

i have sqrt(2*1000)=44.721volts...so thats 1000watts right? so if i do

sqrt(2*750)=38.729 i should have 750wrms ???

i dont know if thats right but what would 75.6 volts = in watts @2ohms
