I have had my type r 12" for about a month and my amp hadnt come in because i ordered it on backorder without knowing. so i got impatient and decided to hook it up to my home stereo. the home stereo puts out i think 100watts at 6ohms. but i also got the idea to hook up the positive into the Right speaker output positive terminal and the negative in the Left speaker output negative terminal to see if it would bridge and be louder.. stupid decision.... after slowly turning it up i had it at about 3/4 volume or less and it made a pop sound then just started buzzing... the weird thing was that the cone was still moving( just slightly though) and the speaker was making a buzzing sound. i thought blown speakers didnt move or do anything at all. so i dont know what is wrong.... if it was just the amp in the stereo, i just got my amp in today and will try to hook it up as soon as possible to see if it works. oh, and if it is blown, i bought it from hookedontronics.com and i had a 90 day warranty... can i send it back to get a new one or to get it fixed???
