would it be better to put two 12" swr-1221d type r subs in a sealed or ported box? and what size should the box be?

This needs to go in the Box section... But (ported) will be definitly bigger. Try to do 1.5 cu/ft a sub. so in other words 3 cu ft.

It'll get moved.

If youre looking for loudness(known as SPL or Sound Pressure Level) then ported is what you want. Im not sure about the size but ill say between 1-2.5ft ^3.

Somebody got something more exact?

its gotta fit too. But i wouldnt give those subs more than 3 cu/ft box. Ive heard em. Dont remeber size of enclosure but u definitly need to go ported.

Make it yourself. It'll be cheaper and you know it was done right. It's actually not that hard to do, and feels pretty good when you're done.
