two questions..

You would need multiple sets of speakers to get each amp channel to see 2 ohms. Unless they are emultiple voicecoil, which no component speakers are, there is no way to change the impedence of a speaker.

A typical component set consists of 3 pieces of equipment per channel. For each side there is a midrange driver, a tweeter and a crossover. Excepting some high end comp. sets, you use a single twochannel amp to run it all. The output from the amp goes to the crossover and the midrange and tweeter are hooked up to their respective spots on the crossover output.

yep thats the basics.. wire it up 4 ohms to the crossover..

now anyone wanna find my topic a few threads down? i cant get my stuff workin =(

ID makes a DVC mid.

What model? Everything on their website is single coil. They make 2 ohm versions, but no DVC. DVC doesn't make sense for a mid anyway because it eliminates the possibility of providing a passive crossover, because the crossover point and contour would change sinificantly with the two different wiring options.
