If it's a true 2 channel amplifier, it's fine.
If you're worried, what amplifier is it? What subs are you using? What will your final impedance of each sub be?

Using two fosgate p2 8 inch sibs

dual 2 ohm.
I will probably just go with a mono and wire to two ohm

Rockville rxm-t2
Cea 600x2 at two ohm

butprobably going to spend a little more and get a mono amp in the$250 range

You have quite a few options in that price range, Cab-22, Sundown SIA 1750 or the SFB 2K and so on. Might even find a Korean 2K in that range if you look hard enough. Heck there is crescendo for sale down in that section right now which would be perfect.
