Yo so I recently had one of my rear sundown 6.5 go quiet on me. If I turn it up to 1/2 volume and put my ear to the door I can just hear it. It is a wolfram 250.4 I have trouble shot everything and am positive it’s either the 1 channel on the amplifier or the 1 channel on the deck but not sure how to tell. If I swap channels with the other rca so channel 2 to channel 1 they speaker goes loud and other goes quiet. I have tryed diff speakers/ checked wiring/ new rcas/ I have opened up the amp but am not sure what the block is that the rca input does inside the amp. I did find some corrosion on a few “whatever they are called… guts of the amp I did clean this off with a toothbrush and iso softly. what’s next? Amp is not old and lame to have my 4th speaker non existent. What would you do? Thanks for reading.

If you need more targeted advice or want to explore specific tests to identify the issue, I'm here to help!

If the sound changes sides when you swap the cable, then your amp & speakers are OK.

You narrowed it down to either your cable/s or your source unit.
How hard would it be to access where the cables are connected to it?

Ok well that’s good news, not hard I’ve already had it all exposed and swapped rca’s with some spares I have. Should I remove the head unit and then see if something looks off on the inside?

You don’t say what headunit that you are using. I would double and triple check the settings on the unit and/or do a reset on it. There are head units that have both a balance and fade control and individual speaker level control.

You could, depending on the head unit and your familiarity with disassembling components.

If you dig into it after doing any system resets previously recommended, look for obvious things like disconnected wires, cracked/burned traces or components, cold solder joints, etc.

I'm reading that you swapped out the cables altogether, and the problem persists, which definitely seems like a source unit issue.
(Unless you have a few sets of identically defective RCA cables)
