two amps - parallel or serial power cable?

It looks like your amp is capable of pumping 600 watts, but chances are, your amp is currently putting out about 400 watts at 4 ohms. Already, your power wire is on the small size. Swap that 10 gauge out for an 8 gauge. Personally, I would throw in a 4 gauge I decide to upgrade anything.

The 4 gauge won't fit in the DX18. It's built for 8. It even states so in the instructions.

That said, I'm going to put my soundstream st4.500d into this (impreza) setup, and ds18 is going into the volvo.

I've been using the ST5 with a 15amp fuse all summer, just not bridged and without a subwoofer. Putting it serial should be good. I didn't realize the DS18 needed that much amperage. I guess I should have examined the specs more carefully.

Both are fine. That said, If I have the wire already, instead of buying more, get these instead.

It's not only about providing adequate power, which either will do, but continuity and aesthetics make a difference to me. I like these because with heat shrink, perfect termination that is offset too.

As long as you use adequate pure copper wire, should be fine.
