I might not know much about car audio w/ these newer amps that are out, but coming from home audio / theater (fan boy); I can honestly say that the bass boost damaged those subs man.Bass boost is def a no no, its not needed if you got your gains right. The gain was kind of high on that amp and probely pushing it past its limits. Plus with your SSF set so low, and the tuning set high, it was just all that put together that did it. ...
My SvS and Cadence are never above 65% amp level.
Actually since I play the 15" Cadence lower due to the deep bass I just use +2 on the Bass Boost to only "HELP when I play movies or music at lower levels, but want the BOOM. Never ever--- use BASS BOOST when your playing music at higer level. VC did fry b/c of that. I am sure bout that.
You should aways use a X-over if you can. Let that control the freq level while only the AMP is to power the SUB, not control the BASS or using the steriod BASS BOOT option //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
