They are free.. WINISD is hard for me to understand.. Haven't tried bassbox.. Good programs from what i hear though..

I finally got a chance to sit down with winisd and really can't figure it out. I got everything except how long the port needs to be. It says like 1600in or something like that. LOL.

I went out and actually picked up 5ft of 4" PVC at Lowe's. Was gonna get the 6", but couldnt see myself buying 20ft of it and using only a couple of it.

what is this going in, i see an suv in your avatar. does the enclosure fit snug on the vehicle on the sides. is the enclosure backed in to the back of a seat, how much room do you have on the side of the enclosure youll need at least 4" if using a 4" diameter port. from the vehicle side panels. same if you where going to place the ports on the back. youll need at least 5 to 6 4" ports. to avoid port noise.

i was going to suggest a slot port with the opening on the rear top of the enclosure going horizontaly or left to right in an L shape down and to the front of the box towards the back of the subs. or if you need to fit a very long port same idea just snaked up and down till you get the proper port length. but it will be hard as hell to build since the enclosure is allput togheter already.

7.2ft^3 net internal volume

six 4" ports (probably should use more)

each one being 26" long (don't know exactly how wide the box is, but that's probably about as long as you can go)

after port and driver displacement you down to:

5.65 ft^3 @ 35Hz

but someone else will have to let you know if that's big enough, and/or that's enough port area.

why don't people actually design the box before they build it?

They would be about 18" in length, bring box size down to around 6.2ft after displacement tuned to ~32hz.

I wish someone would have just gave me that second link earlier. That is some simple shit right there. Did exactly what I needed it to. I already got the 4" pipe though. 5 feet I think. I might just return it and get the 6". Use a hella lot less pipe.

I had actually designed it before I built it. I just had no idea what size ports I wanted or where to put them at. So I just started doing what I knew was not gonna change.

The box is like this:

35"W

15.5"H

30"D at bottom

26"D at top.

Where should I actually put teh ports at? I kinda like the idea of putting them at the bottom of the drivers side rear of the box, right behind the wheel wells is where it ends up being i think.

I just caulked the hell out of the inside last night when I got home, so I am gonna try and do the ports when I get home tonight. Gonna draw the circles out before I start cutting though.

And how should I run the wires out of the box? just through the ports or would that not be good? Ive never built a ported box before. Just a few sealed ones for friends and stuff like that.

I got it all hooked up, took the 4" back and got and got some 6". I ran 2 6" ports at 18" each and it sounds good. Danm good, just that there is something worng with the rca's. dunno if it is the amp or the cd player. Makes wierd noises, like I am playing it weird, yet nothing is supposed to be playing. Like on pause and still weird notes going on.

Anybody know what the problem could be? I checked all the connections an d they are good.

if you disconnect the rcas from the cd player and the noise is still there then then its not the head unit. if you disconect the rcas from the amp. and the noise stays there then its the amps. if it goes away then its the rcas.

i get about 6.6ft^3 after displacement tuned to 32Hz.
